We’re delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the UK Project with a Geotechnical Value of up to £500K , for our Bristol Temple Meads Ground strengthening works.
Geobear was contacted to provide a solution that would improve the bearing capacity of soils below the proposed foundations for a scaffold structure at Bristol Temple Meads train station. The scaffold spans several live tracks and platforms, and as such the loads are high and soil improvement is required prior to foundation construction and scaffold erection.
The material beneath the area consists of made ground that was not designed to support the scaffolding loads and a solution was required to improve the load-bearing capacity. Geobear was brought in to inject one of its structural geopolymers into the existing fill to provide the necessary bearing capacity. The fast implementation and minimally intrusive techniques saw Geobear improve the load-bearing over the Christmas shutdown for the station and during possession working over New Year.
Geobear has been shortlisted for the 2021 British Construction Industry Awards for its work on the Shugborough Tunnel. The category is Upgrade or Renewal project of the year.

Geobear in partnership with Legal & General and Sedgwick won the award for Claims Service Solution of the Year (General).
In 2020 we were delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist in two categories at the 2020 Ground Engineering Awards.
Project of the Year: this entry related to the work we completed at Seaton Deleval Hall. We were required to improve the strength of the ground beneath the foundations to the west wing of the historic house, where significant cracking and movement both internally and externally to the property has been present.
Specialist Geotechnical Supplier of the Year: this was a broader category that assesses the growth of the business and key achievements in 2019. Geobear as a business saw strong growth in 2019 and our new partnership with insurer L&G and loss adjuster Segwick has partially revolutionised how subsidence claims are dealt with in the insurance market.
Geobear in partnership with L&G and Sedgwick won the award for Claims Initiative of the Year. The winners of the inaugural National Insurance Awards were announced at an awards ceremony and gala dinner at London’s prestigious Waldorf Hilton Hotel.
This was the third award presented within a year, in recognition of our work with L&G and Sedgwick.

The prestigious Insurance Times Awards 2019 was held on Friday the 22nd November at the Grosvenor in London. Geobear won in the Claims Partner of the Year category; the category is designed to recognise claims, loss adjusting, legal and service partners that have delivered outstanding profitable, flexible and efficient support to UKGI brokers and/or insurers.
We were delighted to be a finalist for the 2019 Ground Engineering Awards. The awards took place in June 2019 and celebrated the outstanding achievements in projects, people, innovation and the environment.
Our entry related to ground stabilisation and strengthening works we delivered on the M11 in October 2018. Our innovative ground injection methodology could be implemented in under half the time of a conventional solution, which kept the wider M11 improvement scheme on schedule and reduced additional delays to road users by months.
Geobear was delighted to have been part of the winning team for Claims Collaboration of the Year at the 2019 Insurance Post Awards. The category focussed on collaborations between organisations that deliver top-class claim services to policyholders.
